For many IT folks, the Oracle OpenWorld show taking place this week in San Francisco is a great opportunity to catch up on the latest datacenter trends and technologies. For those unable to attend the show, we’ve put together a short video highlighting the event’s key themes.
In talking with many of the IT pros attending OpenWorld, we found that the “top of mind” issues this year include:
- The on-going trend toward virtualization, first the server and now the desktop, via VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure)
- Migrating performance-intensive workloads to flash-optimized storage systems from legacy tiered storage architectures
- Reducing the data center footprint in order to save space, energy, and money
The video below captures a number of the attendees’ interesting responses.
