Nimble Storage was founded in 2008 on the premise that flash technology and cloud-based storage management would radically reshape enterprise storage. We translated these beliefs into our Adaptive Flash platform, consisting of our flash-optimized storage systems and our InfoSight cloud-based management software.
We knew our growth would come at the expense of legacy vendors, and in fact the top five storage companies (EMC, NetApp, Dell, HP, and IBM) have been facing declining storage product revenues as flash takes over the data center. Against this backdrop, the value proposition and differentiation of our Adaptive Flash platform has resulted in rapid revenue growth and a rapid pace of customer acquisition, with over 6,200 customers who place their trust in us. Our customer base spans 70 of the world’s 500 largest enterprises, hundreds of global enterprises and cloud services providers, and thousands of mid-sized enterprises.
We have continued to evolve our Adaptive Flash platform with a blistering pace of innovation. This year alone we’ve delivered many enterprise-grade advancements across the Adaptive Flash platform, including all-flash and auto-flash service levels, software-based encryption of data at rest, REST APIs, and per-VM monitoring that gives our customers visibility into latency and application performance levels across the entire IT stack.
As customers look to accelerate application deployment and simplify infrastructure management, we have partnered with industry leaders such as Cisco, VMware, Microsoft, Oracle, and other key ISVs to create SmartStack converged infrastructure solutions.
With every storage vendor claiming a unique approach to leveraging flash technology, an IT architect looking to build or update a data center needs solid information and third-party analysis as a key input to their decisions. That’s where Gartner fits in, and why we’re honored to have been named a Leader in the 2015 Gartner Magic Quadrant for General-Purpose Disk Arrays. The Gartner MQ is a key strategic asset that helps IT decision makers make informed decisions about the products and solutions most suitable for their specific use cases.
I know I speak for the entire Nimble team when I say how fulfilling it is to be recognized this way by Gartner. This is a remarkable leap for any tech company – from Gartner’s Visionary quadrant directly to the Leaders quadrant. We believe that being the youngest company and the only company founded in the last two decades to be in the Leader Quadrant serves as further validation of our ability to innovate and execute in a highly competitive market.
To those customers and prospects that are considering making the move to flash-based storage to realize greater business velocity, continuity, and efficiency, we invite you to download the Gartner Magic Quadrant report by clicking here.
