High-Performance Storage Solutions for Your Specific Needs
Business-critical enterprise applications like Microsoft Exchange and collaboration suites like Microsoft Sharepoint demand large and growing amounts of high-performance, low-latency primary storage. They also require state-of-the-art data protection. But existing disk-based backup solutions are expensive, and they can result in long backup windows, excessive restore times, and inadequate disaster recovery protection.

Get to Know the Benefits of Converged Storage, Backup, and Disaster Recovery
Nimble has developed an entirely new approach to storage that converges storage, backup, and disaster recovery into a single solution. Nimble’s breakthrough CASL™ architecture is designed from the ground up to leverage flash memory in combination with high-capacity, low-RPM drives to provide high performance at a low cost. What’s more, WAN-efficient replication enables backup to a remote Nimble array, giving enterprises of almost any size a complete, cost-effective disaster recovery solution.
Nimble enables customers to:
- Cut Costs
Nimble’s high performance inline compression technology is optimized for primary applications, leading to 2-4x lower primary capacity usage. Zero-copy cloning enables multiple copies of databases with no incremental capacity consumption. CASL automatically keeps infrequently accessed data in low-cost compressed storage, eliminating the need for complex tiering solutions. Additional cost savings come from the elimination of a separate backup tier.
- Instantly Back Up and Restore Applications
Nimble eliminates backup windows by enabling instant backups on the same array. Backups take seconds and do not impact application or storage performance. Nimble Protection Manager (NPM) ensures backups and replicas are fully application- and VM-consistent through integration with Microsoft VSS and VMware vCenter.
- Improve Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs)
Nimble enables enterprises to replicate frequent backups spaced just minutes apart (instead of the typical daily backup), allowing much finer RPOs and improving data protection.
- Reduce Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs)
IT managers can restore application components or VMs within seconds from integrated backups. In the event of a site failure, application availability is ensured by simply failing over to a remote replica of the primary data without having to do any data restores. When the primary site becomes available again, all intermediate data changes are synchronized with the primary array, and applications can be failed back to the original site.
- Simplify Management
The intuitive Nimble UI eliminates the complexity of provisioning and managing separate storage, backup, and disaster recovery devices. It removes administrative overhead of managing massive data copies between tiers and simplifies management of application-consistent backups and replicas for all common Microsoft applications and databases, as well as Hypervisors such as VMware ESX and Microsoft HyperV.
- Optimize Primary Application Performance
Nimble arrays ship with pre-defined application performance profiles, optimizing storage performance for commonly deployed applications and databases without extensive configuration or tuning. Combined with the inherent performance of its hybrid flash and disk architecture, enterprises can now get a simple, cost-effective solution for primary applications.
