Suresh Vasudevan
Suresh Vasudevan

CEO

Suresh joined Nimble Storage as CEO in 2011, and has served as a member of its board of directors since 2009. Most recently, Suresh was CEO of Omneon (acquired by Harmonic), and previously served as a member of the executive team at NetApp, overseeing all product operations. During a decade-long career at NetApp, Suresh led the company’s product strategy and product development and was a key architect of the steady expansion of NetApp’s product portfolio into new markets. Before joining NetApp, Suresh worked at the management consulting firm McKinsey & Co. in New Delhi, Mumbai, and Chicago as a senior engagement manager. Suresh holds an M.B.A. from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Calcutta, India and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) in Pilani, India.

Varun Mehta
Varun Mehta

Founder and VP of Engineering

Varun is responsible for Nimble Storage’s product development, customer support, and—along with the entire executive team—company strategy. Varun was Nimble’s founding CEO, leading the company through its first three rounds of funding and a record rate of customer acquisition. Prior to Nimble, Varun was vice president of engineering at PeakStream Inc., a startup that was acquired by Google. Varun also served as vice president of engineering and was the twelfth employee at Data Domain, where he built the team that delivered the company’s first products to market and sold 800+ units in its first two years of shipping. Varun spent more than six years at NetApp, which he joined as its eleventh employee. He also held senior management positions at FastForward Networks, Panasas, and Sun Microsystems. Varun holds an MS in computer engineering from Rice University and an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley.

Umesh Maheshwari
Umesh Maheshwari

Founder and CTO

Umesh is responsible for defining Nimble’s product architecture and developing core technologies. Before founding Nimble, he was an early architect at Data Domain where he developed parts of their deduplicating file system and WAN-efficient replication. Previously, Umesh was at Zambeel, a maker of scalable file servers, where he developed a clusterized metadata service and automatic network configuration. Prior to Zambeel, he was at InterTrust, a pioneer in digital rights management, where he developed a patented tamper-resistant database system. Umesh holds a PhD in computer science from MIT, where he researched distributed object database systems. He also holds a BTech in computer science from IIT Delhi, where he received the President’s Gold Medal as the top graduating student.


Anup Singh

Chief Financial Officer

Anup brings over 20 years of world-class financial leadership to Nimble Storage. His responsibilities include finance and accounting, human resources, legal, information technology, and administration. Most recently, Anup served as chief financial officer at Clearwell Systems, which was named #2 Best Place to Work in the Bay Area and was acquired by Symantec in 2011. Prior to Clearwell, Anup held leadership positions in finance at Asurion, Trimble Navigation, Excite@Home, 3Com, and Ernst & Young. Anup holds BA and MA Honors degrees in Economics and Management Science from Cambridge University, where he was a Cambridge Commonwealth Trust scholar, and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Anup was recognized as CFO of the Year by the San Jose / Silicon Valley Business Journal in 2009.

Dan Leary
Dan Leary

Vice President of Marketing

Dan is responsible for all inbound and outbound marketing activities at Nimble Storage. Dan has a 20-year track record of success in managing industry-leading, award-winning hardware and software solutions. Prior to Nimble, Dan served as vice president of marketing at ConSentry Networks and as vice president of product management at Peribit Networks, where he was instrumental in creating and defining the “WAN Optimization” category. Juniper Networks purchased Peribit in 2005 for $337M. Dan also held management roles at netVmg, Lucent Technologies, and Bay Networks. Dan holds an MS in engineering-economic systems from Stanford University and a BS in systems engineering from the University of Virginia.

Mike Munoz
Mike Muñoz

Vice President of Sales

Leveraging over 20 years of experience in technology sales and management, Mike is responsible for developing Nimble’s sales strategy and team, with a goal of rapidly growing the company to a become a storage industry leader. Prior to Nimble, Mike served as regional VP of sales for Data Domain, where he built and led the company’s most successful sales division, contributing to a $2 billion+ acquisition by EMC in 2009. Mike also filled a variety of sales and sales management positions at Z-Force, BlueArc, and NetApp. Mike started his technology sales career at Ungermann-Bass Networks, and followed founder Ralph Ungermann to FVC where he helped contribute to a successful IPO. Mike holds a BS in business marketing and economics from San Jose State University.
